The former president of Generalitat Artur Mas has warned that neir CUP nor ANC chair Govern and that one who has to decide how he responds to requirement of central government is president of Generalitat, Carles Puigdemont. The words of Mas arrive after CUP has sent a letter to Puigdemont in which it asks proclamation of Catalan Republic, in same line that was expressed on Thursday ANC. The former President considers that main "battle" of Catalan executive is to hold constituent elections.

Mas has recognized in an interview in TV3 that call for elections in Catalonia was raised at some point as a possible option and has been convinced that elections will come, but what are in New Republic. He has denied that he has raised a vote, although he has said that he would like to exercise a position abroad in a possible Catalan republic, far from executive functions.

"If we believe that independence is simply proclaiming Republic is that we do not know reality," he said, and has added that Catalonia faces a hard-to-gnawing bone that costs much to influence international opinion. He has asked that leaders of sovereignty process not be questioned because y are facing prison sentences, debarments and fines, and has considered that deadlines "are not best company because y put a lot of demand."
